A Ruby Doll (for me)

I started making this Ruby Doll on Saturday for a friends daughters birthday but I think I'm going to have to keep her... I love the red tulle skirt, the spots and the floral fabric. It's a little bit Alannah Hill and all my favourite colours. Plus the fabric is a collection of pieces from op shops and then from Mum's stash (the tulle) and my dear friend Marcia's stash - the spots.

When I first started really building my stash of fabric I was fairly obessessed with pattern but I'm learing more about how important it is to have plain, textures, spots and stripes. I think the next splurge will be for these sorts of things.

Today is a public holiday in SA - I love 3 day weekends. In 3 days there is enought time to be a bit creative, spend time with family, cook good food, go for a drive and do the washing. I'm also quite proud that I've managed to go for two jogs. I'm not much of a jogger - I go fairly slow but I really enjoy it so I'm trying to improve.
