My Creative Space

I'm a little early for my creative space but sometimes you can't pick creative moments - they pick you. Tonight I've had time to start to sew my latest Ruby Doll together.

This doll is for my little friend Hollie who turns 4 in 3 weeks.

I find this bit the hardest. When the doll is inside out there isn't much room for all the arms and legs plus pins. Tonight my plan is to pin the head, arms and side. Stitch and then position the legs and stitch again.
If anyone has any tips - I'd love to hear them.

  1. hmmm the sewing of seperate appendages is the trickiest i think. after 12 months of sewing softies i have no better advice other than reduce the stuffing of arms/legs at the opening so they can be pinned flatter inside the fabric sandwich. use lots of pins. hope for the best. wonky is cute anyhow {isnt that what Nick said? hehe} u must play with Picnik.com

  7. she is looking very cute. i always struggle in that final step of softie assembly. i agree that reducing the stuffing in the opening of limbs helps and i also do this weird inside out contortionist thing (not me personally) it seems to work
