Sunday afternoon scones

After 3 phone calls and 10 MMS to and from the scone queen (Mum) with step by step inc photo instructions I've finally plucked up the courage to make my very first batch of scones!

Just in time for afternoon tea!

Growing up scones were something that Mum made on a weekend - no recipe needed. I've always been impressed that she use to make them with no measurements and that they worked every time. Impressed and overwhelmed which I guess is why it's taken 28 and a bit years for me to try it on my own.

To keep to tradition I've memorised the recipe rather than writing it down... shh it's a secret!

Thanks Mum x

  2. They look deelicious Cherry. I too took some time to make my first batch - way way way longer than you. Nothing like a light scone with whipped cream and strawberry jam!
